Lahore can be looked as the "matriarch" of the SCJM foundations in the Sub-Continent. The Community of Lahore which is the founding house of our Congregation in the Sub-Continent began with the five courageous Sisters who answered Jesus' beckoning call to care for the famine stricken. That was way back in 1897.

Today still sees the sisters meeting the hopes of those in need. The main apostolate of Lahore Community remains that of education. But this does not limit the initiative of the sisters to be of service no matter its nature and which could be said of all our communities.
